Missing Grants Pass woman found dead

GRANTS PASS — Jackson County Sheriff’s Office reported that a 92-year-old woman who was reported missing on Aug. 6 has been found dead.

Deputies responded to a call form two persons who were riding ATV’s near Pleasant Creek Road and found Margaret Ella Riley deceased in a vehicle in the ditch along side the road.

At this time investigators do not suspect any crime has occurred as it appears Riley died of natural causes.

The vehicle was on Pleasant Creek Road about seven miles past the end of road maintenance area. It appeared that her vehicle became stuck in a small ditch and Riley was unable dislodge it.

Margaret was found in her car outside of town, off the road. She is no longer with us. She lived a wonderful life. We will miss her.

Grants Pass police are asking for help finding a 92 year old woman who hasn’t been seen since last Saturday.

Margaret Riley is missing from her home on Regina Way. She was last seen driving a 1988 Chrysler four door sedan, silver/gray in color, with license plate PAM 405. She’s about 5-3 and 145 pounds.

Police say lives alone, she is considered an endangered missing person.

New Plea For Help Finding Elderly Grants Pass Woman

A new plea today for help locating an elderly Grants Pass woman who hasn’t been seen for about two weeks.

92 year old Margaret Riley was reported missing on July 14th, after a family member realized they hadn’t talked to her for a while.

Grants Pass police say they’ve searched the city and places Mrs. Riley was known to go, plus talked to her friends and neighbors. There’s also no sign of her car, a bluish-silver 1988 Chrysler 4-door with Oregon plate PAM 405.

Police are asking people to keep an eye out for Mrs. Riley or her car, and contact them immediately at 541-474-6370 if you see something. They also ask if you find the car unoccupied, don’t disturb it, and call them right away.
